Vanu’s software radio access network products span from the antenna site to the telecom switch interface. Mall Networks Raises $7 Million in Second Round of VC - Lexington, MA

Mall Networks, a Lexington-based provider of online and in-store consumer loyalty programs, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $7 million in its second round of venture capital, which was led by Dace Ventures. Other investors in the deal include Flybridge Capital Partners, Venture Capital Fund of New England, and LBO Enterprises. Mall Networks said it will use the financing to accelerate product development, and expand sales, marketing and services capabilities. Customers including JPMorgan Chase, Verizon and Best Buy use Mall Networks’ service to offer bonus rewards to their customers when they shop online and in-store at more than 700 merchants.

Boston-based Grid-X Announces $2 Million in Funding - Boston, MA

Grid-X, the Boston-based developer of an ultra high-speed offload and networking technology for data centers, clusters, and grid computing systems, announced on Tuesday that it has secured over $800,000 in new government contracts, customer contributions, and seed investments -- bringing its total funds to over $2 million to date. TripAdvisor Acquires Majority Stake in FlipKey - Newton, MA

TripAdvisor, a Newton-based, online provider of travel services, announced that it has acquired a majority stake in FlipKey, a privately held, Boston-based provider of online vacation rental reviews. FlipKey.com was launched in March 2008 and features 50,000 vacation homes, representing all 50 U.S. states. In addition to amassing vacation rental listings and consumer reviews of featured properties, FlipKey has an exclusive relationship with Instant Software, a property management software company, to provide a guest review platform for its clients. FlipKey content is expected to be integrated with TripAdvisor. Terms of the investment will not be disclosed.

GameLogic, a Waltham, Mass.-based provider of web-based marketing software for casino operators, has raised $8 million in its third round of venture capital, according to a report by PE Hub, which cited a regulatory filing. Founded in 2002, GameLogic offers interactive marketing services designed to help casinos attract and retain customers. The company was founded by the creators of Gamesville, a provider of online entertainment and marketing and promotion systems. Ipanema Technologies, a Waltham-based developer of application traffic management systems for wide area networks, announced on Monday that it has raised $7 million in a round of venture capital, which was led by London-based Noble Venture. Ipanema’s autonomic networking system is designed to manage large wide area networks. Nortel To Acquire Subsidiary of Bluesocket - Burlingon, MA

Bluesocket, a wireless technology company, announced on Wednesday that its Pingtel subsidiary, has been acquired by Nortel. Pingtel provides open source communications technology. Financial terms of the deal were not released. Under the terms of the agreement, Nortel will acquire the key assets of Pingtel, and its employees will be integrated into Nortel’s Billerica facilities. Bluesocket said it will invest the proceeds of the acquisition into product development and sales activities related to its core wireless business.

Financial terms of the deal, expected to close by the end of October, were not disclosed.
