Vela Systems Raises $6M in VC Funding - Somerville, MA

Somerville-based startup Vela Systems Inc.'s mobile tablet PC-based software -- meant to replace the paper and clipboard carried by construction managers and other on-site personnel in related industries -- has raised $6 million in venture capital. The venture round, Vela Systems' first, was co-led by Commonwealth Capital Ventures in Waltham and GrandBanks Capital in Newton.
