Compete Inc. Raises $10 Million in Third Round - Boston, MA

Compete Inc., a Boston-based provider of web-browsing organizational tools, has raised $10 million in its third round of venture capital, according to a report in PE Week Wire on Friday. Investors in the deal include idealab, Split Rock Partners, Charles River Ventures, and William Blair Capital Partners. Founded in 2000, Compete offers a web-browsing tool -- compatible with Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox -- that allows users to "share" their web browsing activities, organize their web searches, and search for discount pricing. The company has raised $43 million in venture capital to date, according to the report.
