Tudor Ventures Closes Third Fund at $262 Million - Boston, MA

Tudor Ventures, the venture capital and private equity arm of Tudor Investment Corp., has capped off its third investment fund at $262 million, Rick Ganong, one of the firm's three managing partners confirmed on Tuesday. Launched in 1994, Tudor Ventures focuses on mid- and late-stage technology companies. The firm typically invests between $7 million and $15 million in each of its portfolio companies and most often act as a lead investor. Some of its better known investments, which have since gone public, include Cambridge-based Art Technology Group, North Billerica-based Avici Systems and Tampa-based Switch & Data Facilities Co. The new, third fund has made about six investments so far, Ganong said.
