Acopia Networks to be Acquired by F5 for $210 Million - Lowell, MA

F5 Networks, a Seattle-based provider of IT network products, has agreed to pay $210 million to acquire Acopia Networks, a Lowell-based provider of software that helps customers manage the growth, complexity, and cost of unstructured, file-based information. Acopia, a privately held firm, was founded in 2002. The company launched its first products in 2004. Venture capital investors in Acopia include Charles River Ventures, Accel Partners, STAR Ventures, Vesbridge Partner, Goldman Sachs and Meritech Capital.
