Bit9 Raises $9.8 Million in Second Round of Venture Funding - Cambridge, MA

Bit9, Inc., which solves the problem of unwanted software at the endpoint, today announced it has raised $9.8 million in a second round of private venture funding. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round with participation from existing investors Atlas Venture and Highland Capital Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Ted Schlein, partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, will be a Board observer. The new round brings Bit9's venture funding to date to $15.8 million, with an additional $2 million provided by a federal grant from NIST ATP in 2003.
