Athenahealth Files IPO To Sell Up To $86.25M In Stock - Watertown, MA

AthenaHealth, a Watertown-based provider of web-based practice management software for healthcare providers, has filed plans with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering to raise an estimated $86.25 million. Founded in 1997, AthenaHealth employs about 550 people and has over 9,600 customers in 33 states. The company had $75.8 million of revenue and a loss of $5.8 million in 2006.
