Symantec Acquires Lexington-based Revivio for $20 Million - Lexington, MA

Symantec, the California-based provider of IT security products, has acquired Revivio, a privately held, Lexington-based provider of continuous data protection technology, for a reported $20 million. Symantec plans to integrate Revivio's technology into its "NetBackup" product next year. Charles River Ventures, Flagship Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, The Nomura Group and Globespan Capital Partners are among the investors that backed Revivio with an estimated $55 million since the company's founding in 2001. The company employs about 55 people.
