mindSHIFT Technologies Raises $18.4 Million in Third Round - Waltham, MA

mindSHIFT Technologies, a provider of IT management services for small and medium-size businesses, has raised $18.4 million in its third round of venture capital, led by Columbia Capital and Fidelity Ventures. A third, new investor with the company, TD Fund, based in Washington, D.C., also participated in the deal, said Paul Chisholm, CEO of MindShift. With about 170 employees in Waltham, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, MindShift focuses on the legal and professional services industries.

HP to acquire Mercury Interactive Corp

HP today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Mercury Interactive Corp., a leading IT management software and services company, through a cash tender offer for $52.00 per share, or an enterprise value of approximately $4.5 billion, which is net of existing cash and debt.

Inceptor Acquired by Verizon Directories Corp. - Maynard, MA

Inceptor, a privately held, Maynard-based provider of search marketing technology, has been acquired by Verizon Directories Corp., a subsidiary of Verizon Communications. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Verizon said that the deal enhances its SuperPages.com service's efforts to maximize exposure for advertisers who want qualified sales leads.

Radianse Raises $6 Million in Second Round - Lawrence, MA

Radianse, a Lawrence-based provider of tracking technology for hospitals, has raised $6 million in its second round of venture capital, led by National Healthcare Services. Other investors in the deal include HLM Venture Partners, Partech International, Ascension Health Ventures, Kaiser Permanente National Venture Development and Partners Healthcare. Telecommunications networking giant Cisco Systems Inc. has agreed to pay $43.7 million in cash for Portsmouth, N.H.-based Meetinghouse Data Communications Inc.
